The Script Society

Bill Knight

The Pitt Script represents the rich history and tradition of excellence for the University of Pittsburgh and Pitt Athletics. Our student-athletes proudly wear the script as they train, compete, and represent Pitt on a national stage. Beyond its unique and recognizable design, the script serves not only as our primary logo, but as a symbolic reminder of our collective commitment to achieving comprehensive excellence and building bridges to our community, our supporters and our history.

Established in 2020, The Script Society is the exclusive philanthropic giving society for Pitt Athletics. This group of generous and committed donors provide critical financial support for our student-athletes, band and spirit squad members, helping enhance their experience at Pitt through philanthropy.

Philanthropic Opportunities

Invitation to The Script Society is reserved for those who make a five-year philanthropic gift commitment in support of Pitt Athletics. All gifts qualify as Panther Club support and members will be eligible for corresponding benefits based on annual pledge payments that rise above contributions tied to tickets and parking. For example, gift commitments directed to sport-specific championship funds, capital projects, and endowments that are tax-deductible allocations.

While the program is philanthropic in nature, The Script Society members enjoy unique stewardship opportunities and deeper, more meaningful engagement with Pitt Athletics. These membership benefits may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Priority points incentives

  • Exclusive experiences and event invitations

  • Premium access to athletics administration, coaches, and student-athletes

The Script Society members will be stewarded at the following leadership commitment levels over a five year period:

  • $50,000
